Arizona Cardinals Coach Bruce Arians just doesn’t know how to relax.
So says Christine Arians, his wife.
Based in Scottsdale, The Zone is designed to remove outside distractions and add positive stimuli.
As a result, she bought a a relaxation pod for their home in Georgia.
“I really wanted one of these devices for my husband,” she said. “He runs on adrenaline all the time. He works too hard and he doesn’t know how to relax.”
Once she saw how it helped him relax and focus, she wanted to share it with the world.
So when the couple moved to Arizona, Christine was connected to Barbara Saint John, a grief specialist in Scottsdale. They teamed up to open a business in Scottsdale they call The Zone, targeting athletes to help them improve focus and concentration, as well as those suffering from grief. They say the relaxation pod also can help with child behavior modification.
“Business men do not know how to shut off their brains,” Saint John said, adding that if a business executive is suffering from any type of grief, they block it and hide their grief in the workplace.
“For me, the grief is a big part of it,” Saint John said. “People do need help.”
After investing $100,000 into the business, Christine said she expects to be profitable soon.
She charges $299 for three sessions, with some of the proceeds going to the AriansFamily Foundation and Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Christine said her goal is to get her husband in the pod at least once a week.
“The Zone helps him get in the zone,” she said.
The Arizona Cardinals will face the Green Bay Packers in the divisional playoff game on Saturday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
